Kathie Rowe - Owner and Graphic Artist
When asked by her kindergarten teacher what she wanted to be when she grew up? Kathie answered, “an artist” and her desire never wavered.
Kathie studied art at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and subsequently went to work in New Orleans for Muller Advertising Agency as their in-house artist. From there she spent six years at New Orleans’s number one adult contemporary music radio station, WQUE.
In 1968, after her husband accepted a transfer to San Antonio, Kathie started Expressive T-Shirts, specializing in custom screen printed t-shirts for the tourist industry. Over the last twenty years, her business has experienced remarkable growth. She changed the name to Big Star Branding and added advertising specialties and embroidery and now is one of the largest fully integrated screen printing, embroidery and promotional products businesses in South Texas.
Austin
Creativity runs deep in the veins of our artists. Austin describes himself as having been found in the lava of Fire Mountain, forged by the hammer of Thor, cooled in the river of life. This is how the tempered blade that is Austin came into our world. After eons of saving the universe at Davie Bowie’s side, Austin decided to become a graphic artist.
But what’s really important is that he studied Commercial Art/Advertising and Digital Media Design at Texas State Technical College. And with 6 years of computer graphics experience, the tempered blade is now a powerful mouse; ready to help you develop or hone your images into great custom apparel.
Joe Not to be outdone by his creative office mate; Joe has 34 years of experience in the screen printing industry and claims to have been there for the creation of the wheel or maybe it was just the color wheel. Either way, Joe has mastery of Four Color Process and all the other necessary processes to bring your art to life on t-shirts, cups, mugs and hats.
